Those of you who have worked with me know, and those of you who will work with me will come to know, that my personal achievements are far less important to me than the needs and goals of my valued clients. Nonetheless........
A lifelong advocate of the fitness lifestyle, I am driven to share my passion of health & exercise, while helping others realize and experience the benefits of incorporating fitness as a way of life. Whether it be the need to get healthier, lose weight, rehabilitate from illness or injury, improve one's fitness level or train for specificity of sport...my focus remains the same; to work in a seamless partnership, together driven to meet and exceed one's fitness goals and objectives. Though I consider myself average in terms of natural strength and fitness capacity, my god given gift comes in the ability to identify with people, motivate, and pursue relentlessly until the ultimate goal is met - YOUR personal success and achievement.
My personal training certification is from the National Strength & Conditioning Association. Considered the worldwide authority on strength and conditioning, I chose to certify through this organization based on it's emphasis on research based knowledge and it's practical application to improve athletic performance and fitness. The NSCA also stresses the importance of health and fitness evaluation as well as risk stratification in order to assess prospective clients accurately and design exercise programs more individually and safely. In addition, by certifying through NSCA I was able to broaden the scope of my practice to include clients with unique needs and those with compromising health related issues.
I am certified as a kettlebell instructor through CrossFit. CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. I had the distinct opportunity to study and train for my certification with Jeff Martone, one of the first certified senior kettlebell instructors in the United States. The owner of Tactical Athlete Training Systems, Jeff was the first to implement kettlebell training in a federal law enforcement agency and now offers instructor-level certifications. He has over 15 years of experience as a full-time defensive tactics, firearms, and special response-team instructor.
My porfolio of clients have included professional athletes, national and international equestrians, high school and collegiate athletes, individuals with orthopedic, injury and rehabilitation concerns, and individuals with unique needs and/or degenerative diseases.
The scope of my practice includes resistance training, cardiovascular endurance training, functional training, plyometrics and speed/agility training, suspension training, metabolic and core conditioning, and of course.......kettlebell training.
My mission is clear; to be able to make a difference in someone's life....one client at a time.
